HUMOUR IN MODYFORM

Dear Friends,

I have some humourous observations. I hope all of you will excuse me for them.

After so many months of communication on and through Net, I feel that after 25 years I am again in the same classroom, because the silence by most of the students is quite similar to that in '84 classroom. In those days also, Nagendra, Meena and many others were participating in communication and others would keep silence. The same situation is today on the Net. Actually I am interested in hearing about all of you on the Net. I have great confidence in everyones language capability, expression and presentation. Since my memory says that all you were wonderfully sensitive and vibrant children, I expect to hear more stories from your side, related to your humourous experiences in life, your memorable moments in life ( could be your marriage also) and your nerve cracking experiences with the education of your children.

Once again I request you to write on any subject that you can share it with all of us. Otherwise MY PERIOD WILL BE OVER.
Regards

Lighter side of heavier aspects

Dear '84 Batch Students,

I remember  this poem which I love to share with you:
  •
      by William Henry Davies

    Leisure

    ===========

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars like skies at night.

No time to turn at Beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.

A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

  • A Mathematician’s Poem

Who tells  a lion that its Roar is Royal,
Who tells an elephant that its Magnitude is Magnificent,
Who tells a peacock that its Colours are Charismatic,
Who tells a horse that its Power has no Parallel,

Who tells a donkey that its stupidity is its livelihood,

Who tells a monkey that its energy is energizing,

Who tells a fish that her breaths are breathless,

Who tells a mosquito that its might is not in the light but in darkness,

Who tells a dinosaur that its history will outlive history,

Who tells the humans that their love is lasting,

their kindness contagious, their brains all conquering,

Who tells the Sisters what they do, few can do,

Who tells Sir Mody Thank God someone else (Miss Ann) taught us English!

And who tells me - do I know that I don’t know?

  •  Rajiv Takkar

  • Who tells  China that  Manmohan Singh is free to roam from north, south, west, east in our own country,

Who tells Obama that he was awarded the Nobel Peace prize but still needs to prove the reason for winning the prize,

Who tell our kids that we were like them 25-30 years ago and that we live and learn,

Who tells a bystander that people are strange when you are a stranger,

Who tells a human being that he/she has a choice of living in the dream of future or in the history of past,

Who tells a polluter that there will be no summer ice in Artic Ocean in next 10 years,

Who tells a competitor that everyone cannot be the best but everyone can do their best,

  • This was the outcry of William Henry Davies, in old times. With your kind permission Mahendra Mody has the following presentation:

What is this life, if full of care,
We have no time to NET AND SHARE.I know that so many of you are connected to the Net, but I doubt whether you have willingness to SHARE. I would be very happy if you send your details or write articles to the website
http://fatimaconventbhavnagar.com/. During my reflection I have observed that this God's beautiful and wonderful world doesn't require any human judgement or verdict. So I started writing few lines to which if somebody can give a title and end it by adding a few lines, I would be very happy. Here are the lines:"Who tells  a lion that its Roar is Royal,
Who tells an elephant that its Magnitude is Magnificent,
Who tells a peacock that its Colours are Charismatic,
Who tells a horse that its Power has no Parallel, "I invite you to add a title and add few lines to complete the poem.Sometimes I wonder, before this movie 'Taarein Zameen Par' was made, I had the privilege of seeing brilliant stars in my academic life. I have wonderful memories of all these brilliant stars and I would always be interested to know where and how they are.Few of those brilliant stars are:RAJESH SAH and his brother and sister
    MONA, SONA and RUPA SHAH
    ALL RUPARELIAs
    DHARMESH KOTHARI
ROSHNI PANDYA and her brother and sister
    TEJINDER WALIA
    AHMED HUSSAIN and RAZA HUSSAIN
    SUVIDHA NILAM and her brother
    SHILPA JAIN and AMIT JAIN
    ANIL KUMAR and VINEETA KUMAR
    SAMEET DOSHI
    AND the list continues ...........
Whereever you are and whatever you are, if you have been taught by Mahendra Mody, you can be sure of one thing - that you are always included in my prayers, whether I remember you by name. God Bless You and May You Grow to be Wonderful Persons

STRESS MANAGEMENT SIMPLIFIED

.   22nd June, 2009

Dear Friends,

All types of distractions, disruptions, disppointments and depressions are considered to be closely related to stress.

This belief is so generalised and so easily accepted that practically all functions of life are identified with stress. In fact, this is not true.

All abovementioned negative states of existence can also be due to:
   1) Improper and immature ideas about certain events in life;
   2) Non-systematic and illogical approach in problem-solving;
   3) Various negative complexes and non-communicative attitudes towards certain problems.

In my problem solving and counselling sessions, mostly I have identified that people take stress for granted. In terms of medicine its symptoms are often irritability, anger, frustration, physical pain etc. which eventually lead to cardiac and neurological problems. But most people are much confused about stress, so whether it is children's education or financial planning or family relationships or workplace relationships - everywhere they find stress. In fact, by analysing the specific problem correctly  and applying result oriented problem solving methods, every situation full of stress can easily be converted into an interesting and enjoyable experience.

My simplest solution to real or unreal stress is:
 1) Regular undisturbed sleep for atleast 7 hours;
 2) Balanced nutritious diet with lots of liquid intake (not alcohols).

These two natural activities, when not disturbed and carried out in good environment, can remove any type of physical, mental or emotional stress - real or unreal.

If anyone has any specific problem, which has penetrated his/her constitution, I will be glad to help them regain their joyful, vibrant and energetic existence.

E1T1 VIRUS

Subject: Educational Flu (virus E1T1)
                --------------------------------------
13th June, 2009
Dear Friends,

My recent interaction and observations since few years indicate that most of the parents, teachers and students are afflicted by 'educational flu'.

Its symptoms are heavy and tight academic schedule for students, a mad race to do more tutions with quite heavy charges by teachers and fluctuating blood pressures and sleepless nights for the parents.

This educational flu is afflicted by virus E1T1 i.e. 'Education-1 Tution-1'. Such toxic effect of educational system was never seen before and it has nearly taken toll of mostly all who are associated with it.

I suggest a vaccine which is 'MIM vaccine' (Mahendra I. Mody vaccine) which has prophylactic as well as curative effect, so that there is a healthy recovery from such terminal cancerous situation.

Here is the 'MIM vaccine ':
1) Children below of the age of 10 should be allowed to play games and have physical interactions with the objects and things around them.
2) Academics should invoke in the students confidence, rationality and ability to make decisions and implement them. The content and curriculum are only supportive to these values.
3) Let boys and girls at college level select their own graduation fields and profession. If they like what they do then they will do it well. Just encourage them to find their objectives and targets in their fields.

Success, glory, fame, wealth etc. do not belong to any particular profession or business or employment. Those people who do what they like in life, will generally be more successful and lead a better life.
